these are not the memoirs of an empress, nor of a queen. these are the memoirs of another type. Sayuri
There really is something to "absence makes the heart grow fonder"!! I love my friends. Have had some great, warming, from the heart chats with two best friends this week. Over coffee. By the river. Downtown. At the U of S. Pick up right where we left off.
Sometimes you're friends with someone because you're lives run parallel for awhile. Every once is a special while you find someone who's heart runs parallel to your own. I've missed my friends. I've loved these two weeks at home reconnecting...

cevapcici...the only authentic croatian food we ate...and Kelsie ate it nearly every night! :) Personally I was more fond of the red vegi sauce they served with it!!!

Got in on Brulo fest!!

"treats" from the drunk man to the "no alcohl" Canadian freezing her butt off in the pouring rain waiting for the 1:30am bus...right beside the Albanian Bar with "beautiful women, good dancing, good food, come, come...no worry about other men, I protect you...swig, chug, stumble, slurrrr"

Started in Zagreb, bussed to Porec, met up with Kelsie, bussed to Rabac via Labin, bid Kelsie g'bye, back to Zagreb via Labin. Even though I only had a few hours in Labin, all of them in the pouring rain, and most of them in the dark, it was still my favourite...just a taste of the culture and beauty of Croatia!!

A great ride out with the wonderfully funny Sodestrum family...old pump organs, cherry orchards, the smallest church in Canada, Fried Chicken, and jaw dropping scenery. I loved that drive!!
Vancouver Island! Glorious lakes with freaks in the bushes :). The Breakwater is possibly my favourite place in Vic. A few SK faces and lots of great new BC faces. The Blue Fox rocks - breakfast is my favourite meal and they do it up right! And so do the McLeans! Buckwheat pancakes with apple sauce and maple syrup for Sun. lunch...yumm!
Vancouver Inertnational Fireworks Show was totally awesome. Spent my nights at a new found cousines...Davina's. Thanx for the fab hospitality!

I stole these pics. Thanx to the photographers! This was absolutely my favourite day of the entire summer! Finished tearing down the tents at Duncan around noon then headed for the river! Cruised the river with some awesome people...Bryn, Krystal, Monty, Jon, Michelle, and Conrad. Laughed until our cheeks hurt, froze every appendage, and soaked up the glorious green along the banks! Smashed our buts on hidden rocks, dumped a couple times going over the rapids, and languished in every patch of sun we could steer into! A great way to spend August Long!!! Ferried it back just in time for me to head to the airport for the Adriatic Sea!
