Touch Down...

One day in Saskatoon.
One day at home.
My wings are tired.

1000 Oceans...Jonathan Hickman

In between, the forever not - touching of loss -- the longing for how things might be.

Stars of night--suns of day...

...Reflections in pools of tears.
And the point where the two worlds almost touch...

once again on CANADIAN turf

home. safe. sound. no bags. stinking of airports, airplane, busses, bus stations, cigarettes and booze (oh yes, this is indeed the overwhelmingly predominant aroma of Europe).
Conrad met me at the airport with a big smile and open arms. the lack of sleep (yes that's what I'm blaming it on) mushed my heart.
it's raining. but I'm still a free woman as my cell phone is in my lost luggage!! wahooooooooooooo, so still a few more days of blissful peace! :)
mmm, and my skin is peeling, but guess that's a given after a week of beaching, er, cementing, it!
we're going to my fav coffee place for a sip'n chat...and Conrad doesn't even complain cuz it's next door to his fav comic shop...hahaha, our fav corner in Van!! hmm, maybe I'll take some pics!

quick notes from Croatia

spending the days blissfully swimming/floating in the crystal clear sparkling Mediteranian Sea, absorbing the vit. D into our very beings, sipping fine smooth deep espressos, and staring at breasts and speedos
the bikini top is apparently just something to wear to and from but certainly not at the beach
tiny cobblestone streets, confident bodies, kind croatians with gentle eyes, europeans out for their summer family camping trip, green trees/vines/shrubs/olive trees/fig trees/chestnut trees, clean pale buildings gleaming in the croatian sun, tiled rooves
massages on the beach - thanx Dad :)
sail boats, fishing boats, yachts, water taxis, row boats...all glistening the bright Med. sun
loving the camping - first night it rained so hard and so much that we wondered if we were pitched IN not BY the sea!!
bowels are finally adjusting :}
apparently there were heaps of Canadians/Americans/British/Australians here before the war...but now we are a serious novalty! They are so excited to see our passports or hear natural english!
kealsy´s feet are bruised...feel empathetic Rochelle???
rotating by the sea all day, playing in town all night - my internal clock is so totally messed that time has absolutely no meaning to me and i just crash when I´m too exhausted to move and live and love the rest of the minutes away!!
pizza and fries, hamburger and fries, sausage and fries, beefstake and fries, any/all seafood and fries, gelato, espresso...take a look at that and guess what I´m subsiding on!!
italians, germans, a few swedes, and croatian holidayers...we seem to be the only true tourists, and we are so intent on vacationing that weŕe hardly tourists!!
have never been this surrounded by caucasians in all my life...have nightmares about creepy white faces :)
˝beaches˝ are actually cement slabs
sorry, no pics till I get home...
arrived in Zagreb, presently in Poreč, heading to Rabac...back to Zagreb, to London, to Van, to Ed, to S´toon at long last...what a seriously fabulous life filled with wonderous people and facinating places and incredable opportunities...i am so blessed PS - the croatian colours are red and white...thus my choice of blog colours
