My home away from home...BJ!!

What can I say?! I love Beijing!!!!!!!!!!!! The sights, smells, sounds, the coffee shops, the art shops, the book shops, the clothes, the Beijing people, the green leaves, the parks, the hutongs, the byciles, even my hostel!! I LOVE BEIJING!!!
Yesterday was a very special day! I met up with all of Augii's friends in the morning, the most people I've been with since August - 15!!! And the most important friend was in the center of the room...again, first since August. A bit of a culture shock! :) Then we had a fantastic dinner - Augii's Japanese friends cooked, followed by some storries of the agriculture and harvest in MN. My heart was bursting once more!
I'm thoroughly enjoying just soaking up BJ! Don't even carry my camera...I'm just being! Tonight we're going to the Night Market (spiders, scorpians, beetles on a stick), and tomorrow I'm heading to the Summer Palace for some more rejuv. time. Wed. I head out for HK!!!

moving on

A month ago I would have given anything to be in BJ...but leaving MN I had a gigantic lump in my throat and I could care less about BJ!! All the way, I was getting less and less excited about BJ/China... arrived... NOISE PEOPLE NOISE PEOPLE NOISE... instant headache. Mongolia is empty and quiet. Even Ulaan Bataar. However, I had a feast of the best food I've eaten in 5 months! I walked down the street, browsed through some great markets, feasted my eyes on all the fruits and vegis, stared at a green bush, bought a Dragon Fruit...strolled down the street in the dark and knew I was completely safe!!! I headed back to my hostel with a gigantic smile on my face and in my heart. I love BJ!!

fun, fun, fun

ya, so got hauled off the train around 10pm by a looser of a guard demanding $40USD. they said I didn't have an exit visa...however I could show them all the papers and reciepts, oh, well then you don't have an entry visa...got into the station, into the head hauncho's office...got mad, oh, she can speak Mongolian?!, ok, then you only have to pay us $20USD...idiots, and they wonder why their government rates along the bottom with Africa!!
