pics of life in UB

Teaching has begun and I LOVE it!!!!! Imagine...I just get to plan parties all the time every day!!!!! WAHOOOO!! I just hope my creativity doesn't take a nose dive me!
First class was awesome...10 students
. Second class...ONE student...huh??? They were all sitting outside enjoying the beautiful fall day!! Total...13 students. Third class...started with 2, one hour in there were 8. Apparently this is the Mongolian way!
Monday night I was soooooo pumped I couldn't sleep. Sat up and ate and planned!
Tuesday (5hrs teaching) I wasn't sure I'd even make it home!! I was sooooo exhausted!
Thursay - a little discouraged, taught grammar and it seemed so boring and dull - however, one of my students came up at the end and said " I teach German. I always write down all your activities so I can use them in my class!"...so I guess it was less boring than they're usual grammar classes!!
Tonight is only my fourth lesson, but I will have taught 16 hours of class in 4 days to the same people...all new material for them and for me! WOW!
K, gonna try some pics again!
Yesterday, I had to get off the sidewalk cuz a guy on a horse was trotting towards me and it was quite clear that horses have the right-of-way, not pedestrians...
And there are cows everywhere roaming freely on campus...I hate cows! I guess this will also help me get over my fear of the ugly beasts!
Going to the gym for my showers...helps keep me motivated to go workout!!
Vegis cost the same here, fruit is more $$, meat/grains/dairy is WAY cheaper. So either I will spend more on food than expected, or my diet will change imensly!! At home I always check the fat% on the milk/yogurt, here I make sure there's a pic of a cow and not a horse!!!

Hello fellow nomad,
I'm reading all of your posts green-eyed with a bit of envy and smiling wide at the thought of the daily reminders that you're in a foreign country. That's what I love[d] about traveling. If we wanted it to be just like home, we should stay there, hmmm? Here's to getting through the stage where the novelty wears off - may the 'ordinary days' remain extraordinary... Could you email me your itinerary - it didn't reach me before you left. Please send it to jodi_graham@hotmail.com
Thanks heaps. I'd love to be a fly on the wall in your classroom - I think you'd be an energizer bunny teacher [that's a compliment if you're not sure]. Best of days to you, friend.

Chantellabella!
Don't become a farm girl now after all this time....we've got you citified and you need to remain that way! Otherwise you won't come back.
Cows are not usually mean, they're just dumb and curious - you could likely give them quite a scare.
Keep the energy in moderation or you'll scare your poor students - they won't be able to keep up with the whirlwind.
Take care love!
